ST. LOUIS -- The Blues announced late Tuesday night that they have acquired forward Matt D'Agostini from the Montreal Canadiens for forward prospect Aaron Palushaj.
D'Agostini, 23, has played in 40 games with the Canadiens this season, recording two goals and two assists and 26 penalty minutes.
Last season, D'Agostini scored 12 goals and added nine assists in 53 games.
The Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario native was a sixth round pick (190th overall) in the 2005 NHL entry draft.
D'Agostini, who is 6-foot and 198-pounds, will join the Blues for their Thursday night game in Dallas.
Palushaj, 20, was a second round pick in 2007 (44th overall) out of the University of Michigan who played for the United States in 2008 at the World Junior Championships, where he tallied two goals and three assists in six games.
The 6-foot, 183-pound right winger was touted to have a bright future in the Blues' organization but he has struggled in his first full season with five goals and 17 assists for the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate in Peoria.
