Blues recall Rattie from Wolves

With AHL team's season done, forward joins NHL club as first 'Black Ace'

CHICAGO -- The Blues added some depth for the Stanley Cup Playoffs by recalling forward Ty Rattie from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League.

The Wolves wrapped up their regular season on Saturday at 33-35-8, well short of the American Hockey League Calder Cup Playoffs. 

Rattie had 17 goals and 29 assists for 46 points in 62 games; he was third on the team in goals and points behind Pat Cannone (52) and Danny Kristo (48) and third in assists behind Cannone (32) and Jordan Schmaltz (30).

Rattie could be the first of a series of 'Black Aces' recalled to supply depth to their respective NHL clubs if needed.

This is Rattie's fourth recall this season and had four goals and two assists in 13 games. 

Rattie has four goals and four assists in 26 NHL games spanning three seasons. He joins extra forwards Ryan Reaves, Dmitrij Jaskin and Magnus Paajarvi and is unlikely to get game action.

Blues coach Ken Hitchcock will meet with the media at the United Center at 1 p.m. and players will be available at the team hotel at 2 p.m., so expect more updates later this afternoon.
